Payn: Hi. I'm Simon, president of Ready to Go Newsletters.
Now, a lot of people ask me, "Why should I choose your
newsletters over and above all the others?"
I'm going to answer that question by telling you a little bit
about myself. I am a journalist by trade. After school, I went
to work for magazines, newspapers and Websites. I worked for
some of the top newspapers in London, England and in Toronto,
Canada, and I ran the editorial team of a Website that spanned

Now the big, dirty secret of journalism and reporting is that
it's not so much about reporting. It's about entertaining, I'm

and you need to present articles that are relevant to their
lives and that are interesting for them. That's, frankly, what
they taught me to do in journalism school, and it's what my
mentors at newspapers and magazines told me to do, as well.
Now, I left journalism because, as you know, newspapers aren't
doing so well right now. I went into business, and I trained
myself in sales and marketing. I believe if you're starting a
business, the number one, most important thing you can do for
yourself is train yourself in sales and marketing, and that's
what I did.
So, I thought, Well, hey, let's combine the two, journalism plus
sales and marketing. I will make newsletters that will be really
effective and that will work for anyone.
This is why my newsletters work better for you than any others.
One, they contain articles that people find interesting and
entertaining. These are articles that people want to read.
People tell me they keep my newsletters, and look forward to

Two, they contain elements of direct marketing. Now I say
direct, because that is a form of marketing that is really

action. It's something that says, "Hey, I've got this extra
information for you. Give me a call, send me an email and I'll
send the information right] to you." Most newsletters don't have
that.
That starts a relationship. It starts people communicating with
you. The benefit of that is it encourages people to raise their
hands and say, "Hey, I'm interested in hearing more."
Now, guess who's going to be the most important prospect for you
to call the next day?
One other thing I want you to know about. These newsletters can

now are quite savvy. They know when you're sending something

market. Show a bit of yourself, a bit of passion, a bit of
personality.
